Our guiding principle is that our crafted products are wherever possible made in England.

The centre of this activity is the Foster & Son workshop, situated right over our retail store in Jermyn Street, and staffed by an enthusiastic dedicated team of shoe and bootmakers who have many years’ experience in leather craftsmanship.

Our Products Ready To Wear Evening Shoes

Evening Shoes

What is the correct shoe for "White Tie" or "Black Tie" evening wear?

Strictly of course the black patent leather plain fronted Oxford shoe, such as our "Blenheim", is the uncontested classic for Black Tie occasions, but a nicely polished classic black calf Cap Oxford is very acceptable.

For the "White Tie" evening the rules tend to be more strict, patent is out and our top quality black calf "Holyrood" bow pump is the appropriate footwear, matched with our full length black socks in fine silk.

We are also seeing interest in the relaxed formal dressing that this shoe offers, since its decorative bow and softly gleaming black calf can be worn in a less formal setting than a patent leather dress shoe.

How about this with a nice velvet smoking jacket?
